It's the call no father ever wants to get... On Wednesday, May 23, 2012, I received a call that my son had been injured in Afghanistan. Evan was one of the lucky ones. He was driving a MaxxPro MRAP vehicle on that day's mission, when the vehicle an IED (Improvised Explosive Device). Evan and the other two members of his unit walked away. They all had some injuries, but they were alive. As Evan was sent back to the states I got to catch up with him at Andrews Air Force Base. Keep in mind, in less than 48 hours; he went from Afghanistan to Germany to Washington D.C. to Fort Bragg. We are both thankful for all the care he received during this trip, but I remember him saying how thankful he was to The Wounded Warrior Project for their assistance to him. I could tell a longer story, but that's for me to tell over a beer. I decided to help by using my talents to support this great group. So I will contribute from the proceeds of each of my transactions to The Wounded Warrior Project.
